Did you know that it is actually good for children to have compliments? Years ago, parents thought compliments would spoil a child. Now we know that the right kinds of compliments help children feel like competent children: which they are! So, notice when your child does something right, and tell them! Here are some suggestions:

Wow, that was great!

What a good job!

Look how hard you tried!

You worked hard on that!

I like the way you did that!

Make sure to compliment your child today. And congratulate yourself for helping your child feel competent!
