
About Community Concepts, Inc.
Community Concepts, Inc., of South Paris, Maine, USA is a 501(c)3 not for profit community action agency. We were incorporated in 1965 as part of President Johnson's War on Poverty.
Community Concepts' mission is to: "Collaborate, coordinate and to focus resources to help people in need build opportunities for a better tomorrow."
We are the state-designated community action agency for Oxford and Androscoggin Counties in Maine. Our all-volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of equal parts low income representatives, publicly-elected officials, and private sector members.
Community Concepts has a strong presence in western and central Maine, maintaining an administrative office on Market Square in South Paris; 2 additional full-services on 79 Main Street, Auburn and 100 York Street, Rumford; a 2nd office site in South Paris and Rumford, and licensed Children' s Centers in the towns of Rumford, South Paris, Norway, Oxford, Fryeburg, Porter, and Bethel.
Our agency offers a broad array of traditional and innovative services to meet our mission. We utilize the energies of over 240 talented staff and hundreds of volunteers to provide an annual $19 million dollars in services. Community Concepts' major programs are:
Community Concepts' accounting practices meet all federal, state and local fiscal requirements including federal Circular' s A-122, A-133 and A-110. Our annual third party audits consistently show no questioned costs. Our finance department maintains a computerized accounting system to manage over 55 separate program contracts.
